Traditional nitrocellulose inks, long used in packaging, come with significant risks. Over time, they can degrade into nitrosamines, which are recognized carcinogens, posing a potential threat to human health. In addition, nitrocellulose-based materials are highly flammable, creating safety concerns during manufacturing, storage, and transportation. At Wahren, we have proactively addressed these challenges by adopting NC-Free inks and materials across our pharmaceutical packaging. This not only helps us safeguard patient health but also reduces environmental hazards and ensures compliance with the most stringent global regulations. By moving beyond outdated practices, we reaffirm our commitment to packaging solutions that protect people, products, and the planet.

As Southeast Asia’s pharmaceutical sector experiences rapid transformation—driven by regulatory harmonization, innovation, and rising healthcare needs—CPHI South East Asia 2025 emerges as a pivotal platform for regional collaboration and growth.
For the first time ever, the event will be hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, bringing together 8,000+ pharma professionals, 400+ international exhibitors, and a highly curated pool of buyers from across Asia and beyond. With such a diverse and influential gathering, CPHI South East Asia is set to become the region’s most impactful pharmaceutical event.
From Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines to Malaysia, ASEAN’s pharmaceutical markets are among the fastest-growing globally. Governments across the region are:
Investing in local manufacturing,
Reforming regulatory frameworks,
Creating fertile ground for global partnerships.

The country’s pharmaceutical market is projected to grow from RM11.2 billion in 2022 to RM15.5 billion by 2027, supported by the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030. This initiative offers strong incentives for API, biologics, and vaccine production.
